We’ve got a LOT of native plants to get in the ground at Great Pond! Please join us, Group for the East End and the Town of Southold this Friday to pitch in.
And if cutting phragmites is more your bag, there will be an opportunity to do that during this session as well.
This event is weather dependent. Long sleeve shirts, long pants, and closed toe shoes are required. Please bring your own tools, work gloves, and plenty of water.
After a year of removing phragmites, an invasive species also known as common reed, volunteers will now plant bayberry, button bush, groundsel bush, swamp milkweed, native grasses, and more to help restore this critical habitat.
